Introducing *Wink *Wink Ink

I definitely didn't get this one done on time to use natural lighting for the pictures, but at least I finally got a card done, right? :) I've been so busy with packing, holiday stuff, and raising four children that I just couldn't seem to get much done lately in the way of crafting!

Anyway, I used the card sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges:

Both the alien and earth stamps are from my friend, Melanie's new digital stamp company, *Wink *Wink Ink. Aren't they cool? I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed in my photography tonight, though, because not only did I not do this card justice (it looks so much better in person), but I didn't do *Wink *Wink Ink's alien justice! Ah well - I will give it another try tomorrow! I'm already in the process of making two more alien cards. I really should move on to Melanie's other stamps, but I'm just having so much fun with this alien. Isn't it fabulous? You're all going to love her other stamps, too. I promise!

I used Prismacolor pencils to color in the stamps and blended with Gamsol. All papers are from Die Cuts With a View. Oh, and I typed out the sentiment in Microsoft Word and printed it out. :)

Don't forget to go check out Melanie's blog, *Wink *Wink Ink and see if you can win some of her wonderful blog candy! Good luck and...

Happy New Year!!!

Merry Christmas!

I have been doing a terrible job of posting things on time! I actually used the sketch from Papertake Weekly, but I didn't post it on time to add my card to their Mister Linky. Oh well. Maybe next week! Luckily, I also made this card for a couple of other challenges. Simon Says this week, "Merry Christmas". I hope it counts that I stamped "Merry Christmas" on the inside! I made my own snowflake embellishment by punching it from a pop can, so I qualify for Dutch Dare's challenge, "Make It Happen". The cute little penguin is from a The Angel Company stamp set. I colored it in with Prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol, and added some Stickles to the tree. Thanks for looking!

Peaceful Angel

Here's a Christmas card I made for three challenges. First, the sketch is from Friday Sketchers:

Over at Charisma Cardz they're having a, "Red, Green, White and a choice of either White or Silver" challange. I chose white since I have a harder time working with silver. I hope it's okay, I added a dash of yellow, too!

Last, but not least I made a holiday themed card (Christmas), which is what Our Creative Corner was challenging everyone to do this week!

My yellow felt star with its glittery edges looks much cuter in person! :) Thanks for looking!

Glory to the New Born King!

Here's a Christmas card I made inspired by Whimsy Stamps Challenges, "Die Cuts" and A Spoonful of Sugar's challenge, "Non Traditional Christmas Colors". I used a stamp set from The Angel Company on this card.

Thanks for looking! :)

Two Projects

Sorry for my absence! I think I mentioned before that I'm in the middle of a move. It's getting to a busier point in the move, so that's why I haven't had as much crafty time. After everything is packed up I may have to take a 6-month break (more or less) from crafting. I'll sure miss it! I'm going to Nicaragua with my family for the winter. We may end up moving down there (we're putting everything in storage here until we're sure). My husband and I are farmers and would love to find an affordable place to farm year round, so that's mainly why we're considering moving to Nicaragua. Also, we could afford to hire a housekeeper (more time for crafting for me) and farm help for my husband. Anywho... all of that to say I may not be around as much! :o( I'm going to miss everyone, but I'll be back to crafting as soon as I can! I'll also be posting everything I'm able to make before everything is packed up, so this won't be my last post! :)

Here's a card I made for Creative Card Crew's challenge, "Christmas". Actually, I made six of these cards. They're very simple compared to most of my cards, but with Christmas just around the corner I had to make some quick ones!

The stamp is from The Angel Company, paper from Die Cuts With a View, I used Stampin' Up ink, and my petite oval Nestabilities, of course. I LOVE Nestabilities!

Next, I'm showing all of your the gift I made someone very dear to me - my mother:

I painted the unfinished mini dresser with acrylic paint, then covered the drawers, sides, and back with Die Cuts With a View paper from, "The Green Stack", I dabbed on a bunch of walnut ink on the knobs, then distressed all of the edges of paper! It was a fun project and I know my mom will love it, because she saw the one my friend, Melanie made me and wanted one of her own. My mom will use it to store her jewelry in. Oh, and I should definitely mention I got the idea from my friend, Melanie whose mini dresser turned out far better than mine! Melanie is a wonderful artist who will be coming out with her own line of digital stamps soon! I can't wait to show all of you!
