Gorjuss Christmas

I think I just figured out what has been wrong with my pictures lately; there are little fingerprints on the lense of my camera! I'm going to have to fix that before I make any more cards, because it's causing my photos to look foggy. The overcast sky isn't helping either.

Today I used Marlene's awesome sketch from The Sugar Bowl:

I also doodled some "zig-zag" for the second part of The Sugar Bowl challenge. The adorable Gorjuss Girl image is from Sugar Nellie, of course. I love those Gorjuss Girl stamps!

Well, back to crafting. I have a lot of Christmas cards to make still! I need to get them out before Christmas this time (haha). Thanks for taking the time to look! :) Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Tiny Packages

Here's a Christmas card I made today for Michelle Perkett Studio's 5th challenge over at Paper Craft Planet, "Blue, Green, White, and a Splash of Red". I had a good time playing with this little digital freebie from Michelle!

Thanks for dropping by! :)

Starry Christmas

(1st Challenge) This isn't the greatest photo due to the sun was nearly set! For this card I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly Challenge blog:

(2nd Challenge) I used the adorable digital image, "Setting the Stars" made by Phindy's Place. Phindy's Place over at Paper Craft Planet put on their first challenge this week, "Holiday Glitter", which I glittered my card up for (see the beautiful wings and stars!) I must say, I'm impressed by Phindy's stamps, which can be found HERE!

(3rd Challenge) Over at Creative Card Crew Challenge blog they have this week a challenge called, "Strings Attached". I added my hemp to qualify for this great challenge and I'm so glad I did, because it really added to it!

(4th Challenge) I am thankful for the challenge over at Crafty Creations, "Metal/Metallic Finishes", because I would not have put those stars on this card if it weren't for that challenge and I really think it was a nice touch!

(5th Challenge) I definitely think this card qualifies for the"Baby's First Christmas/Pre-Schooler" challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar! What a lovely blog they have over there!

The paper/cardstock is from Die Cuts With a View and I colored in the image with Prismacolor pencils (blended with Gamsol). Thanks for Looking!

More Peace On Earth

This card was inspired by the sketch this week at Paper Craft Planet. I'm using this tree from The Angel Company for the majority of my Christmas cards this year. The saying is from Flourishes. The ribbon was from Mark's Finest Papers.

Peace On Earth

Okay, I think this photo may be a little on the bright side, but the sun is down now and I don't want to wait until tomorrow to post it! :) I made this card using the inspiration from I Heart 2 Stamp (sketch) and Colour Create (color challenge: Green, Red, & White). Here's the sketch:

The adorable stamps are made by Flourishes (I bought them at Mark's Finest Papers), ribbon from Mark's Finest Papers, paper from Die Cuts With a View. Thanks for looking! :)

Just Me and My Horse

I chose my colors for this card to participate in The Play Date challenge this week:

Then, I chose the cute sketch from Mo's Digital Challenge Blog:

I used a digital stamp (Mo Manning's), so qualify for The Cupcake Craft challenge this week, "Digital Images" (I think). :)

It's hard to believe I got two cards done today! I'm supposed to be moving. For some reason, each time I think about packing I end up making a card. I use card making as a stress reliever, so moving may just end up causing me to do a lot of card making! :)

Thanks for looking!

5-Challenge Card

I actually played with five different challenge blogs while making this one card! I used Judy's sketch from The Sugar Bowl: Challenge 23:

Over at Just Us Girls they're having a "Dry Embossing" challenge. I dry embossed several different pieces of paper on this card. All of that texture brings me to Cute Daisy May's challenge this week - "Touchy-touchy". Not only does most of my paper have texture between all the distressing and dry embossing I did, but all of that glitter is quite raised and the ribbon is nice, sleek, and smooth! Cute Card Thursday's challenge this week is, "Glitter Me Silly". I added glitter to all of the flowers, leaves, to the bow around the flower pot, and even some on the girl! I would say, I got a little carried away (on purpose this time) to participate in the "Glitter Me Silly" challenge! That sure was fun! Normally I try to be careful NOT to add glitter all over the entire stamped image, but I basically did that today. Last, but not least I played with Charisma Cardz whose challenge this week is, "Merry & Bright". My card is definitely both of those! :)

A Sketch Challenge

For this card I used the sketch I got from I Heart 2 Stamp's challenge this week:

I used Mo Manning's digital stamp, "Little Girl in Kimono", colored it in with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. The paper is from Die Cuts With a View and the flower is from Prima. What do you think? Did it turn out pretty?

Swing by Sometime!

Here's a card I made for Flourishes Newsletter challenge, "Favorite Things". The inspiration came from The Sound of Music song:

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

The line that inspired my card is, " Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes". I loved this challenge. I wouldn't mind making another card for it!

The second challenge I participated in today was Quixotic's "Stitching" challenge. As you can see, I did plenty of machine stitching on my card!

The third challenge was A Spoonful of Sugar's, "Create a Scene". I hope mine qualifies for that. The cloud is a separate stamp from my girl on the swing!

Tonight and This Morning

I made this card last night. I chose my colors to participate in the Play Date Cafe's inspirational challenge:
On the inside I stamped, "Thank You".

I used Judy's sketch from The Sugar Bowl blog:

I colored in my Gorjuss Girl stamped image with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I added Stickles to her cute little wings and paper pieced her dress with paper from The Angel Company. All of the patterned paper used on this card are from the same pack of paper I got from The Angel Company. I machine stitched on all of the patterned paper pieces of paper and the white piece behind the little Gorjuss angel.

I made this cute card this morning. Over at Cute Card Thursday they're having a Primary Colours (red, blue, and yellow) challenge. I don't think I'd ever made a card with the focal colors being the primary colors, so this was a fun challenge to participate in! Then over at Dutch Dare Card Challenges the challenge is to "Felt Like It" - add felt somewhere on the card. My friend, Melanie had just mentioned recently how she had been making felt circles with Nestabilities, so I thought... I'm going to try to make some felt flowers with my Sizzix die cutter. It worked really well! I lined the red flower with Stickles, sewed the flowers together, and sewed on the button after tying the ribbon on the button. I used the Whiff of Joy stamp that I colored it in with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. The patterned paper is from The Angel Company, the solid colors are from JoAnn Fabric & Crafts. I used the Whiff of Joy blog sketch:

What do you think? Did they turn out all right? I sure enjoyed making them! :) Thanks for looking!

For Jaimie Cates

Here's a card I made for Jaimie Cates, whose sad story and info on sending her a card can be found at "Stamp Something... for Jaimie". On the inside I stamped, "You are in my thoughts and prayers".

The bear on the outside is a cute image from Whipper Snapper. The flowers are made by Prima. The yellow patterned paper is from The Angel Company. Thanks for looking!

Hip Hop POP

Here's a card I made for My Favorite Things', "So You Think You Can Stamp" challenge #4, "Hip Hop" that they're putting on over at Splitcoast Stampers. To give it more of a Hip Hop feel I drew a little butterfly tattoo on "You Take the Cake" lady's arm. My mom is currently taking Hip Hop dance classes and she mentioned her well known teacher has a few tattoos. I thought that would be a great thing to incorperate into my card! I added some sparkly gems on all four corners of my layered squares (made with Nestabilities), and picked out some cool, TAC polka dot paper since it "popped" out at me. I colored in the image with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. Thanks for looking! :)

2-Card Sunday

I made this adorable little cupcake card for Sugar Nellie's 2nd birthday cupcake challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. You can't tell from the photo, but the little cupcake on the cupcake card has glittery sprinkles on the top. I colored in the Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl stamp with my Prismacolor pencils and paper pieced her dress with some paper from The Angel Company. The mini cupcake and "Happy Birthday" stamps are both retired stamps from The Angel Company.
I used my Cuttlebug embossing folders to get the two different textures on the cupcake card. I found this cute cupcake card template over at Outside the Lines blog.

For this card I chose a different fold (the Gate Fold Card) from my everyday card to participate in the DP2 Challenge this week, Fancy Fold Card". On the DP2 challenge it was also suggested we get out of embellishments we've been saving. So, I thought it was a great time to use some of these cute see through, sparkly buttons I've had in my collection for close to 2 years! The stamp I used is Mo Manning's digital stamp, "Shire". I simply looooove horses, so when I saw this stamp I just had to have it! I colored it in with my Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol.

I chose these colors to play along with The Play Date Cafe this week. Their challenge was to use these colors:

I had a great time doing something crafty this weekend! It sure beat last weekend when I was sick with the swine flu! I would love to hear what you think of my cards - comments make my day! :) Thanks for looking!
