Magnolia's Kind Birthday Wishes

Today I'm participating in four different challenges and a contest! The first challenge was to do The Little Stamp Shoppe's "August Challenge: Vintage or Shabby Chic". The way I incorporated this theme into my card was to choose an almost old fashioned looking Magnolia stamp, then I roughed a few paper edges up. I slid my edge distresser along all of the layers of brown paper and the piece of light pink behind my little Magnolia character.

The second challenge was over the Just Magnolia blog and this week they wanted everyone to do something with "Ribbons and Bows". For this I ran the light pink ribbon down the left side of the card and tucked the edges neatly behind the light green layer of paper. By the way, all the paper I used on this card are from Die Cuts With a View.

The third challenge I participated in was Papertake Weekly's 22nd sketch challenge. Here's the sketch:

The Fourth challenge was over at Roses on Paper's blog where they're putting on a "Punches" challenge this week! I added some cute little punched leaves under my flower for this challenge. I had gotten this great Martha Stewart punch not that long ago and I hadn't gotten around to using it, so was glad this challenge caused me to go through my punch drawer to figure out what would work best on this card! :)

Last, but not least, I entered the Simon Says contest over at Paper Craft Planet with my card! The contest's rules were to use the colors: light brown, light green, blushy pink, coral pink (optional), and white (optional). I thought those colors turned out looking wonderful together!

Well, that's all for now! Thanks for looking! :o)

Monochrome Ballerina

Here's a card I created for two different challenges:

The first challenge I'm joining with this card is a "Monochrome Challenge" with Serendipity Stamps Blog & Gallery. I had never made a monochrome card, so I actually really enjoyed this challenge! What do you think? Did I pull off the one color all right? I also joined Sketch Saturday by doing their great sketch:

Well, that's all I have to share for now! Thanks for visiting! :o)

Fisher Boy Birthday

Once again I made a card for two challenges: Farm Fresh Fridays (stitching) and Cute Card Thursday (challenge #74 - something summery). For Farm Fresh Fridays I added stitching to my card design, used one of my favorite brands of stamps (The Greeting Farm stamps), and used the sketch FFF provided - "Sketch by Jessica".

I actually was going to make two of the very same card, but then I accidentally adhered everything together on the first card before doing the intended machine stitching, so I did what is called "faux stitching". I used a black pen and made stitch-like marks as you can see below:

I got around to doing the machine stitching I had originally wanted to do on the second card and I think I like that best, although I was nearly equally happy with the faux!

Well, that's all I have for today. Thank for looking!

Sending You Wishes

I made a card for two card challenges:

For the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week's challenge was stitching, so I added stitching along the border of the tan square and the turquoise circle . For those of you who know my style, you already know that adding some stitching to my card wasn't really a challenge at all for me!

Papertake Weekly Challenge is celebrating their 100th challenge this week, so allowed everyone to choose their favorite challenge out of their past 99 challenges. I chose the "My Favorite Things" challenge and used three of my favorite products; Stickles (on the little flowers the mouse is throwing), my Nestabilities (they are by far my favorite die cutting system), and Prima flowers (I can't seem to get enough of those).

That's all for now - thanks for stopping by! :o)
