Merry Christmas!

I have been doing a terrible job of posting things on time! I actually used the sketch from Papertake Weekly, but I didn't post it on time to add my card to their Mister Linky. Oh well. Maybe next week! Luckily, I also made this card for a couple of other challenges. Simon Says this week, "Merry Christmas". I hope it counts that I stamped "Merry Christmas" on the inside! I made my own snowflake embellishment by punching it from a pop can, so I qualify for Dutch Dare's challenge, "Make It Happen". The cute little penguin is from a The Angel Company stamp set. I colored it in with Prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol, and added some Stickles to the tree. Thanks for looking!

Tonight and This Morning

I made this card last night. I chose my colors to participate in the Play Date Cafe's inspirational challenge:
On the inside I stamped, "Thank You".

I used Judy's sketch from The Sugar Bowl blog:

I colored in my Gorjuss Girl stamped image with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I added Stickles to her cute little wings and paper pieced her dress with paper from The Angel Company. All of the patterned paper used on this card are from the same pack of paper I got from The Angel Company. I machine stitched on all of the patterned paper pieces of paper and the white piece behind the little Gorjuss angel.

I made this cute card this morning. Over at Cute Card Thursday they're having a Primary Colours (red, blue, and yellow) challenge. I don't think I'd ever made a card with the focal colors being the primary colors, so this was a fun challenge to participate in! Then over at Dutch Dare Card Challenges the challenge is to "Felt Like It" - add felt somewhere on the card. My friend, Melanie had just mentioned recently how she had been making felt circles with Nestabilities, so I thought... I'm going to try to make some felt flowers with my Sizzix die cutter. It worked really well! I lined the red flower with Stickles, sewed the flowers together, and sewed on the button after tying the ribbon on the button. I used the Whiff of Joy stamp that I colored it in with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. The patterned paper is from The Angel Company, the solid colors are from JoAnn Fabric & Crafts. Bella's Birthday Car

First off I picked the sketch and image to participate in this week's Bloggabella challenge! Here's the cute, simple sketch:
Dutch Dare had a color inspiration challenge this week, which was fun to use:

The wallpaper behind the flower reminded me right away of some paper I had, so I dug through my paper collection and found it! I was glad to be able to use something I had had in my collection for awhile.

I distressed the paper edges to qualify for the Cupcake Craft Challenge this week, "Distressing Techniques". Then, I embossed the green strip of paper with my Cuttlebug folder to participate in the Cute Daisy May's, "Textures" challenge. The recipe I followed today came from Artful Inkables challenge, "1 image, 2 ribbons, 3 layers, and scallops".
